The World Ran to end child hunger!

Hundreds of runners around the world put their best foot forward uniting for World Run Day to End Child Hunger on Sunday November 5th.

In total 53 group events were organized by inspired volunteer organizers and they were joined by hundreds of solo runners all around the world.

The Hash House Harriers group in Rome of 11 runners and 11 walkers ran in the afternoon in support of World Run Day from Madonna dei Monti all around the Monti, focusing on the three hills that comprise the Monti (Esquilino, Viminale, Quirinale). In the evening another group gathered in front of Castel San Angelo on a chilly fall evening for a run/walk along the LungoTevere to Friends Café for an aperitivo.
D J Bobo becomes WFP Ambassador

Following from his support of Walk the World 2006 in Geneva the Swiss DJ Bobo, who has won around ten "World Music Awards", has now joined WFP as an Ambassador. "Travelling around the world has made me sensitive to human suffering. It is a privilege to be able to help. The advantage of fame is that I can be heard and I have to seize this opportunity," said DJ BOBO. As WFP Ambassador, DJ Bobo will focus on school feeding programmes.
Top London night club helps fight hunger!

World Run Day!

One of Fight Hunger's champions Bill McDermott is organising a global World Run Day on Sunday November 5th to raise funds for World Food Programme's School Feeding Programme. Running clubs all over the world are joining in this event and teachers in schools are using World Run Day to raise awareness of the problem of child hunger with their studens. Fight Hunger Viral Video Contest!

Fight Hunger is a division of the UN World Food Programme set up to help end child hunger by 2015 which is part of the first Millennium Development Goal.

There are currently 350 million hungry children and one child dies every five seconds because of hunger.We're trying to be upbeat and inclusive about our approach to this global problem. To that end we have just launched a Viral Video Contest.

We're looking for an upbeat viral video to help spread the word that it's time for child hunger to end. The winning prize is to visit and film a WFP School Feeding Project.
